Is the photo album screensaver free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up, no login, no ads, and no limits on how long you leave it running.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Local photos are read straight from your device with the browser's file APIs and decoded in the page. No file, thumbnail, or file name is ever sent to a server.

Where do the curated photos come from?

They are pulled from Picsum Photos, a free open photo source that needs no API key. Each batch uses fresh random seeds, and the "New batch" button reshuffles them.

Which image formats can I play?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, and BMP files are picked up when scanning a folder, up to 3000 images per selection.

Why do I have to pick my folder again each visit?

Browsers deliberately do not let a page keep access to a folder between visits. Reselecting it takes one tap, and it means the site never holds on to your files.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. On iOS, where folder picking is unavailable, the same button opens a multi-select photo picker instead, and the request resolution adapts to your screen.
